I have the lexmark all in one printer X4850. The ink I use is:
#41 Color Return Program Print Cartridge (18Y0141)
#42 Black Return Program Print Cartridge (18Y0142)
They are pretty expensive and I am going to college soon and will need refills in probably 2-4 months. Are there any off brands that will fit into my printer? Or if not, where can I find it cheaper online or in stores?Need Cheaper Ink for Lexmark X4850 Printer?
I TRY TO HELP BUT I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER

Why does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?
i have plenty of ink in the color cartridge but the print on the entire page looks like yellow highlighterWhy does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?
because it is out of red and blue ink.Why does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?
The above people have the correct ideal.
More than likely, its because the cyan and magenta inks are empty or clogged. Its attempting to print all 3 colors at the same time, and when you combine those 3 colors, it makes a very dark grey or black color.
If you can locate any printer utilities on your computer, attempt to run a cleaning cycle, follow by a nozzle or quality check. See if you can see any cyan or magenta print on that nozzle check/quality check page at all. If you don't that is your problem.
You can attempt to replace your color cartridge to fix your problem, but for example, on an epson printer, replacing the ink cartridge won't fix the issue since the printhead(the part thats clogged with ink) isn't replaced.
If this is a HP or lexmark printer, you can probably fix it by just replacing the cartridge with a new one.
Hope this helps!
u shud have something in ur printer options that says like, ';clean cartridge'; run that and it will print out a bunch of color lines and such on paper and a lot of times, it will fix probs like this. If that doesnt work, take the cartridge out and rub the place where ink comes out with a damp paper towel. Do this until red/blue come out on the paper towel.

How do you view your printer's amount of ink on windows?
i have a canon pixma mp240 printer
and its already set upHow do you view your printer's amount of ink on windows?
When you open the printer it will show you - I also have a Pixma - Hate itHow do you view your printer's amount of ink on windows?
Go to start menu %26gt; settings %26gt; printers %26amp; faxes %26gt; right-click on your printer icon %26gt; properties %26gt; click on the ';cartridge maintenance'; tab.
Most printer soft wear today will warn you when your ink is getting low. Be careful as they will send you off to get ink before you really need to. They do this as it is the ink that makes them their money not the sales of printers. I use the printer software warning as a gage for a heads up that my printer will need ink soon.

I have Lexmark x2350 printer and have just changed the ink cartridge and the ink is still very faded any ideas?
I've had this same problem. try increasing the ';print quality'; to best for a short period of time. This should get the ink flowing properly again.free
I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?
I already checked all sources of error. I checked the ink level. And still this doesn't work.I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?
well, without knowing the brand of the printer... it could be the paper... some paper companies don't make there paper true white its bluish. or it could be the light source. most printer companies offer a free technical support phone number or website that you can go to and troubleshoot. try that. im sorry i couldn't be more help.
ps. canon is the best. they offer the best support for these things. and they are awesome.I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?
The ink level wouldn't matter. If it were out of ink, it would just have lines in the letters. BUt it might be because you didnt set it up right, or your ink is bad or somthing.
first check the paper, is right for your new printer i would go to printer's website to the trouble shooting section and see if any one else is have your problem ...good luck
If it is a color printer, it is not adjusted correctly, or same as follows.
If B%26amp;W printer, that may be the ink color.
Some inks are more ';black'; than others.

Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? I have just changed the cartridges?
I have just changed the cartridges, although they were generic ones (Tesco own brand)Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? I have just changed the cartridges?
Press down the little button with the red triangle in the circle and hold it until the orange light, that I.m assuming in on as it a warning message, I have that same model and used compatibles so had same message. This should reset it. If not, turn off the printer and then back on again and try the holding of the button again. You have to hold it down hard for a fair few minutes for it to work. It should then print but will not show ink levels so you will have to watch for print quality to deteriorate to alert to you to when you need to change ink.Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? You cannot, just ignore it.

I have a Xerox workcentre 470cx all in one printer. After ink refill how to remove the R Cart Empty message?
The Right Cartridge Empty message does not go away even after a complete ink refill. What should I do to get this message away?I have a Xerox workcentre 470cx all in one printer. After ink refill how to remove the R Cart Empty message?
Make sure you pressed the right one into place. It'll click into place. Once you close the compartment cover and control panel, the LCD should say: cartridge changed? Since it was the black one, make sure you input yes. Try pulling the color cartridge as well enough to disconnect the print head from the printer, then snap it back into place. Do that with both cartridges, unless you are working w/o the color cartridge. The LCD should ask about the cartridge change. If it still doesn't, we'll get to that in a minute. Did it print out an alignment paper? Once a cartridge is replaced, it will automatically print a test page (alignment pattern). If it still isn't printing, clean the head (copper plate on cartridge) with q-tip and alcohol. Don't ever touch that copper head with your fingers (or anything other than q-tip, and that's only when necessary). As long as it prints and the LCD display still hasn't gone off, use it anyway. Unless you want to take it in to a XEROX repair shop to fix a discontinued printer, leave it alone, and use the printer/fax as much as possible until the wheels fall off. I hope this helped. This is information for the Workcentre 470cx, from the manual and not my opinion or imagination. I'm not MR. Technician, but I have enough common sense to know how to locate solutions to issues. Good luck. I suggest an upgrade sometime soon, anyway. Ray
