Need Cheaper Ink for Lexmark X4850 Printer?

I have the lexmark all in one printer X4850. The ink I use is:

#41 Color Return Program Print Cartridge (18Y0141)

#42 Black Return Program Print Cartridge (18Y0142)

They are pretty expensive and I am going to college soon and will need refills in probably 2-4 months. Are there any off brands that will fit into my printer? Or if not, where can I find it cheaper online or in stores?Need Cheaper Ink for Lexmark X4850 Printer?
I TRY TO HELP BUT I DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER

Why does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?

i have plenty of ink in the color cartridge but the print on the entire page looks like yellow highlighterWhy does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?
because it is out of red and blue ink.Why does my printer print everything in yellow when i use the color ink cartridge to print something?
The above people have the correct ideal.

More than likely, its because the cyan and magenta inks are empty or clogged. Its attempting to print all 3 colors at the same time, and when you combine those 3 colors, it makes a very dark grey or black color.

If you can locate any printer utilities on your computer, attempt to run a cleaning cycle, follow by a nozzle or quality check. See if you can see any cyan or magenta print on that nozzle check/quality check page at all. If you don't that is your problem.

You can attempt to replace your color cartridge to fix your problem, but for example, on an epson printer, replacing the ink cartridge won't fix the issue since the printhead(the part thats clogged with ink) isn't replaced.

If this is a HP or lexmark printer, you can probably fix it by just replacing the cartridge with a new one.

Hope this helps!
u shud have something in ur printer options that says like, ';clean cartridge'; run that and it will print out a bunch of color lines and such on paper and a lot of times, it will fix probs like this. If that doesnt work, take the cartridge out and rub the place where ink comes out with a damp paper towel. Do this until red/blue come out on the paper towel.

How do you view your printer's amount of ink on windows?

Go to start menu %26gt; settings %26gt; printers %26amp; faxes %26gt; right-click on your printer icon %26gt; properties %26gt; click on the ';cartridge maintenance'; tab.
Most printer soft wear today will warn you when your ink is getting low. Be careful as they will send you off to get ink before you really need to. They do this as it is the ink that makes them their money not the sales of printers. I use the printer software warning as a gage for a heads up that my printer will need ink soon.

I have Lexmark x2350 printer and have just changed the ink cartridge and the ink is still very faded any ideas?

I've had this same problem. try increasing the ';print quality'; to best for a short period of time. This should get the ink flowing properly again.

  • I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?

I already checked all sources of error. I checked the ink level. And still this doesn't work.I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?
well, without knowing the brand of the printer... it could be the paper... some paper companies don't make there paper true white its bluish. or it could be the light source. most printer companies offer a free technical support phone number or website that you can go to and troubleshoot. try that. im sorry i couldn't be more help.

ps. canon is the best. they offer the best support for these things. and they are awesome.I recently bought a new printer, but when I print the ink looks kind of bluish. Why does this happen?
The ink level wouldn't matter. If it were out of ink, it would just have lines in the letters. BUt it might be because you didnt set it up right, or your ink is bad or somthing.
first check the paper, is right for your new printer i would go to printer's website to the trouble shooting section and see if any one else is have your problem ...good luck
If it is a color printer, it is not adjusted correctly, or same as follows.

If B%26amp;W printer, that may be the ink color.

Some inks are more ';black'; than others.

Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? I have just changed the cartridges?

I have just changed the cartridges, although they were generic ones (Tesco own brand)Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? I have just changed the cartridges?
Press down the little button with the red triangle in the circle and hold it until the orange light, that I.m assuming in on as it a warning message, I have that same model and used compatibles so had same message. This should reset it. If not, turn off the printer and then back on again and try the holding of the button again. You have to hold it down hard for a fair few minutes for it to work. It should then print but will not show ink levels so you will have to watch for print quality to deteriorate to alert to you to when you need to change ink.Canon Printer MP220 how do I turn off the alert telling me I am low on ink? You cannot, just ignore it.

I have a Xerox workcentre 470cx all in one printer. After ink refill how to remove the R Cart Empty message?

The Right Cartridge Empty message does not go away even after a complete ink refill. What should I do to get this message away?I have a Xerox workcentre 470cx all in one printer. After ink refill how to remove the R Cart Empty message?
Make sure you pressed the right one into place. It'll click into place. Once you close the compartment cover and control panel, the LCD should say: cartridge changed? Since it was the black one, make sure you input yes. Try pulling the color cartridge as well enough to disconnect the print head from the printer, then snap it back into place. Do that with both cartridges, unless you are working w/o the color cartridge. The LCD should ask about the cartridge change. If it still doesn't, we'll get to that in a minute. Did it print out an alignment paper? Once a cartridge is replaced, it will automatically print a test page (alignment pattern). If it still isn't printing, clean the head (copper plate on cartridge) with q-tip and alcohol. Don't ever touch that copper head with your fingers (or anything other than q-tip, and that's only when necessary). As long as it prints and the LCD display still hasn't gone off, use it anyway. Unless you want to take it in to a XEROX repair shop to fix a discontinued printer, leave it alone, and use the printer/fax as much as possible until the wheels fall off. I hope this helped. This is information for the Workcentre 470cx, from the manual and not my opinion or imagination. I'm not MR. Technician, but I have enough common sense to know how to locate solutions to issues. Good luck. I suggest an upgrade sometime soon, anyway. Ray

Unfortunately when it runs out of black, it won't let you just print in color.

The only thing you can do is get a new cartridge, and I think you can only get them directly from Dell (unless you have a dell store in a mall or something locally).I have a dell photo 926 printer and ran out of black ink but still have color ink, why can't i print?
Most printers will have a properties screen, on that you should be able to tell it to use color only. It will then use all three colors to make black. The simple answer, put the tools into the printer that it needs to do the job you are asking it to do. Machines are not all that adaptable.
Your printer might be set to print with the black ink. Go into your printer settings and set it to use color. If you can't find out where that is you can always contact Dell tech support at

Ink Jet Printer Epsom R300 ink and cartridge problem?

I have an Epsom R300 ink jet printer. I have plenty of black ink left in the balck ink cartridge. This is all I want to use.

However, I cannot print because a printer dialogue box says that I must replace the coloured inks. Is there any way of getting round this problem without buying color cartridges which I don't need?

Or should I just throw my Epsom R300 in the trash because it's useless?

By the way... I advise everyone never to buy an Epsom printer because they are a complete rip off!Ink Jet Printer Epsom R300 ink and cartridge problem?
All new printers do this, this is for the reason that in order to provide enhanced photo quality they do not use a true black. All of the colours are used to darken and sharpen the black in order to give a crisp print.

There is no way around this, it is a function of the firmware. Even if you buy a new printer, you will encounter the same problem (even if it isn't and Epson).

I want to use my printer to print on a clear plastic but the ink won't dry it smears. Can I buy ink for this?

Is there a trick to this?I want to use my printer to print on a clear plastic but the ink won't dry it smears. Can I buy ink for this?
You cannot print onto just anything that is not designed for being printing on by printers. The compatible printer media that can be printed on has been specially designed with a surface texture that allows the ink to stick to it and not rub off specifically for the type of printer that it was made for (i.e. laser, impact, inkjet, etc.)

This is why it won't adhere to your plastic. The best solution would be to purchase transparencies designed for, and compatible with, your printer type (sounds like an inkjet). Or you can go to some professional printer (like Kinko's as mentioned above) and see what they can produce for you with their materials %26amp; printers.

Hope that helps.I want to use my printer to print on a clear plastic but the ink won't dry it smears. Can I buy ink for this?
Google the manufacturer of your printer to find out if they have specialty ink for transparencies.
probably easier to just take the file to Kinko's or something. It would be faster and probably cheaper.

Why does my printer (Epson 785epx) stop printing black and white when it is only out of color ink?

It said it was out of Black ink so I replaced it. Now it says it needs color ink and it still won't print with that error on its screen! How can I print BW copies? Why does my printer (Epson 785epx) stop printing black and white when it is only out of color ink?
I had this same problem with Epson. I finally sold that sucker on Ebay and went back to my old (HP; Deskjet) color printer. Now, when I run out of color ink, it's ok.

Sorry, I have no good news for you.Why does my printer (Epson 785epx) stop printing black and white when it is only out of color ink?
Well, you might be able to trick the printer into thinking you put a new cartridge in. Just take the old one out and put it back in. This approach worked with my old espon, but it had the nasty side effect of making it a pain to put the actual new cartridge in when I got one.

What's a good brand of refill ink for ink jet printer cartridges?

Hopefully one that's available at Walmart, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, Comp USA, etc...What's a good brand of refill ink for ink jet printer cartridges?
Staples recently started making exact duplicates of name brand print cartridges for a lot less money.Just go in and tell them your normal product number and they have a chart to match it.

Don't forget to bring the old ones cause they give you $3.00 each for the old ones.

It comes out to be about the same price without the hassle.

If you decide against that, then get the one at wallmart and don't forget your rubber gloves, razor knife, scotch tape and paper towels. What's a good brand of refill ink for ink jet printer cartridges?
Fillserv ink. It is high quality ink and made in USA. Most of refill kits contains cheap China ink. I'm not sure if you can get it in these stores but you can get it online at http://fillserv.com/cic/category.php?cat鈥?/a>
It's not brand you should be worried about but type. Make sure you know if your cartridge takes pigmented or dye based ink. They are not always compatible and using the wrong one renders the cartridge useless.

When the ink level for the print cartridge is low, a message appears on

your computer screen. You can also check the ink levels by using the software installed with the HP All-in-One. If you not installed this software , insert cd(HP Photosmart C3180 printer) in cd drive and install HP Photosmart software.

If the screen is not coming up, you may want to reinstall your printer software. Can you print your documents now? Also, you can check your inkjet ink printer levels by opening the printer and looking at the ink levels in the cartridges - most ink cartridges are see through so you can see with your eyes how much ink is left in them.

We bought a printer in June and the stupid thing won't print and keeps saying we are out of ink?

after we just bought some new ink. We would like to return it but we threw away the box and can't find the receipt. You don't say what make of printer it is which might help or whether you are able to even print out a test page. If not, do that and if it prints a test then you know there is nothing wrong. What are you trying to print? If it is from within a program, like Word etc are you just clicking on the print icon or going long way round to File Print. What I am trying to get at is are you sure your printer is set as the default printer and that what you are trying to print isn't perhaps going in a queue to a printer that doesn't exist, like Microsoft Document Image? What happens when you try to print? Do you get any messages up? Do you get a blinking light to show that the message has got through to the printer? Have you tried the troubleshooting tips in the status monitor that you should have installed when you installed the printer? I suggest as it is so new anyway you go back and ask advice from the retailer or the manufacturer online who made the printer - there are always lot of tips and hints. We bought a printer in June and the stupid thing won't print and keeps saying we are out of ink?
Your question stated ';new ink';, not new ink tank or new cartridge. If you are trying to use refilled ink, it probably won't work. The manufactures put ';smart chips'; in ink tanks and cartridges now, which monitor ink use to depletion. These are not usually consumer resettable, so you can refill them, but they will never work in your printer.

On the surface of things refilling seems like an attractive option, but it does not work. I bought a Kodak printer because the ink sells for about half for everybody else's sells for.
These days the ink cartridge you get along with a printer is a demonstration piece only - and not a regular cartridge. While a regular inkjet cartridge prints about 250 pages (at 5% of coverage), these cartridges print about 35 to 40 pages only (at 5% of the coverage). o it is quite possible the ink must be over. Why not buy a new cartridge and see if it works. Or if a friend has the same model and number of cartridge, borrow and try it out - if it works.
Try this: Turn off the printer or computer. Replug the printer power. Ignore the 'out of ink' message that display on the printer or the computer. Try to print anyway. If you have two ink cartridges replace only the more often used cartridge (usually the b/w cartridge).
Have a look on the net for the maunfacturers website.Sometimes, if you don't use the printers often they can get clogged up with dust and the ink can dry in the printer.
if it's an epson printer you could just call them and they will fedex you a replacement. They can tell from the serial number how old it is. If it's less than a year, it's covered.
Probably too late to return it for stored credit. Call the printer's manufacturer and get them to fix it or send you a replacement.
Silly question, but did you take off the sticky cover tape from the ink jets at the base of the cartridge?

My epson style 440 printer ink cartidge ran out and I put a new one but now it doesn't print runs smothly.

I had a similar problem with the color cartridge in a Hewlett-Packard printer. I just continued using it though I could only use the black. I went through three or four black cartridges. Then my girlfriend accidentally got both when she was only supposed to buy another black cartridge. Since I had both, I decided to also replace the ';new'; color one that hadn't worked well since I had replaced it some months back. The color worked normally with the replacement.

My analysis is that I had been trying to use a defective cartridge. I was in the habit of buying a spare so that, when ink ran out, I wouldn't have to stop what I was doing to run out to a store to get another cartridge. I now believe the ink can dry a little over time, even though it is not supposed to. Perhaps from a bad seal. I no longer buy them much in advance.

I keep track of my purchases by keeping the receipts. I use a black cartridge about every three months, so I mark my calendar for ten weeks from when the black runs out. I use a color cartridge about every eight months, so I mark my calendar for 32 weeks from when the color runs out. This has worked well. I've had what I needed when I needed it.

Replace your cartridge. My guess is that a store with slow sales can let them dry on the shelf for a long time before sale, so try to use a vendor with a lot of sales. There's also the possibility that you got one (among the millions they make) that was just plain defective mechanically (like if its case got cracked).

On a personal note, I think a manufacturer who makes his cartridges only work in one machine and then charges you an arm and a leg for the replacement is a common crook. It is a scheme designed to extract money which otherwise would not be freely given. If a person sets up a scheme which does that, it's felony fraud and the guy who does it can go to prison. But no one is worrying when a corporation does it!

I went into an Office Depot and the rack for the printer cartridges was twenty feet long, covered with scores of cartridges on both sides. There is no justification for that, except to get money that I would not otherwise give.

If they standardized them like bolts and nuts, the price would be much lower.

Now, cue the sad violins. I'm gonna cry over spilt ink.My epson style 440 printer ink cartidge ran out and I put a new one but now it doesn't print runs smothly.
Did you tell your computer that there is a NEW cartridge in the printer (no I'm not joking, you would be surprised how many people forget).

My Epsom printer and my Lexmark printer both have to be rejigged on the computer before they print correctly.

Ink is far too expensive to waste by not following a procedure. My epson style 440 printer ink cartidge ran out and I put a new one but now it doesn't print runs smothly.
This also happened to me on mine it was the ink well's that were so blocked i had to buy special liquid solution to disolve the hard ink takes between 1-2 hours to clear.
Try doing some head cleanings, it may take several.

The printhead in the 440 won't last forever, and it's a rather old model. It's quite possible it has reached its end.

If the cleanings don't work, perform a proper burial and let it go towards the light.........

today i tried printing some things, my printer showed ';low ink'; whereas it was around half a year ago since i last used this printer to print documents.

The whole set of ink would cost me round 100+ bucks and i don't use it often, pretty not worth it.

Did the ink evaporate or sort of disappear? How can i prevent so?About printer ink?
You need to remember that the ink levels for HP, Lexmark, and Dell are only estimates, not actual levels. I tell people to ignore the levels until the quality decreases.

Now if you do not need color, and do not print a lot, look at a cheap laser printer. The dry powder (Toner) will not evaporate. You can pick up a Brother HL-2040 or 2140 for around 80 on sale.About printer ink?
The ink tends to dry up when you dont use your printer very often. I know what you mean abot the cartridges being expensive because i have a LexMark and my girles do alot of printing. I have seen new printers on sale with ink cartridges inclued for less money than i paid for just my cartridges.

I have a Cannon Bubble Jet printer for my computer. Where is a cheap place to buy new ink cartridges?

Its a Cannon Bubble Jet printer, and the ink cartridges start with NC-0003. I want the black as well as the colors. I don't want refurbished ones, I want new ones. And preferrably under $6 each.I have a Cannon Bubble Jet printer for my computer. Where is a cheap place to buy new ink cartridges?

I have a Cannon s630 printer. Is this considered an ink jet or a laser jet printer?

It is an inkjet printer. which uses the Bci3 cartridges.I have a Cannon s630 printer. Is this considered an ink jet or a laser jet printer?
Your Cannon printer is a ';Bubble-jet'; printer. But the term bubble jet is associated specifically with Cannon and is basically a different rendition of an Inkjet printer.I have a Cannon s630 printer. Is this considered an ink jet or a laser jet printer?
    Inkjet.
I believe it is a ink jet printer.
The S630 is Color Bubble Jet Printer. That makes it an ink jet printer.

    HP Printer ink??

I have an HP C4200 all in one printer and the manual says to use the following ink:

74, 74XL and 75, 75XL. It aslo lists 99 for photos. My ';gap'; in my understanding is why use 99 if you have colored ink? Also, what is the difference, say, between 74XL and just plain old 74?

    Thanks!HP Printer ink??
Photo ink is different than regular color ink so you will have better picture quality color. XL ink will last longer.HP Printer ink??
The photo cartridge has a light black, light magenta and light cyan, and is entirely a waste of money even if you are printing photos.

The XL cartridges have more ink in them.
The 99 cartridge is a photo cartridge, which contains Light Cyan, Light Magenta, and Black. When you use that in combination with a tri-colour cartridge (which has cyan, magenta and yellow) you can create a larger spectrum of colours.

That cartridge is made for use with HP paper. Although other photo papers are fine and will still provide high quality prints (as long as it's decent quality paper), it's usually a waste of money to use a photo cartridge with non-hp paper, since they are designed to work together. Just stick with Black and Colour if you have another brand of photo paper.

  • Old Printer INK?

I have an old printer ink which i didn't use in a long time.. but when i try to print..theres no ink? but there is? can i do something to make the ink come out??Old Printer INK?
    The cartridge has dried up.

Although their may still very well be ink in the cartridge it has dried in the print head rendering the cartridge unusable. After a certain period of time that ink solidifies and cannot be flushed out.Old Printer INK?
Run water over the print nozzle. If that dose not work try rubbing alcohol.

    Laser printer ink remover?

dot metrics or laser jet printer ink correction or removerLaser printer ink remover?
As indicated by R M you are talking two different items with Dot Matrix being Ribbon Ink and Laser Jet being Toner, a combination ot Iron and Plastic which is melted into the paper grain.

Removal is not a credible alternative and covering it with Ink Correction or Remover is going to be blaringly obvious. So if a correction is desired the only suitable solution is just to retype the document in your printer. If your unable to type it have the originator do it for you or have it sent to you.

I Hope this Helps!Laser printer ink remover?
You cannot remove laser toner. It is plastic fused into he page. Once it is there, it is there for good.

You can cover it up with whiteout, however you will not want to run that Page through the printer again.
    Remove from what?

Dot matrix usually uses inked ribbons. Laser Jets usually use TONER.. Two different things.

If you mean removing from paper, then you are out of luck. no go, buck up.

How much would these ink cartridges for a printer cost?

I need a new Canon CL-41 Color ink cartridge and a Canon PG-40 Black ink cartridge for my Canon printer. How much would both of these cost? Where could I get them at the cheapest? (i.e., Wal-Mart, Staples, etc.)How much would these ink cartridges for a printer cost?
A color ink cartridge usually cost 30-40 dollars. A black ink cartridge usually cost 20-25 dollars. You can buy ink refill kits to refill both of the ink cartrides. It allows you to refill your ink cartridges 5-10 times. their not really that expensive ethier. You can probably get one for your printer for 45-75 dollars. Its cheaper then always replacing your cartridges all the time. If you do go this route, just know that it may avoid any type of warrenty or replacement plan that you have on your printer. You can also get a laser printer. My friend at works has one and once he puts the ink toner in it, it lasts for two years. The ink toner is a little more expensive, but in the long run, it will save you lots of money. Im actually consider getting a laser printer that prints out black and white, becouse I just use black mostly anyways, and color very little. Yeah its 100 a ink toner, but that will be able to print 2,400 pages of text. A regular ink jet printer only prints 250 pages of text before the ink runs out. You do the math. Its alot cheaper then replaceing your ink every 2-3 months. Yeah its a little more expesive then an ink cartrige, but over the years you would save alot of money. How much would these ink cartridges for a printer cost?
You can get the ink at Office Depot or at Sam's Wholesale Club. Ink is pretty expensive (to me anyway). Try to buy your ink in a all in one package deal. Or go to Office Depot and just price each cartridge separately and then compare to the package deal.
I usually by my cartridges online at: http://www.pacificink.com. The CL-41 is $26.99 and the PG-40 is $19.99. If you buy more than one you will get a discount. If you become a member of pacificink (which is free) you will not have to pay for shipping.

    Good luck!
    I use EZ ink.com

    Like $3 each I think.

I usually buy 3 of each to save time

How do I changed the ink in my HP deskjet F2180 printer??

Nobody laugh, but i'm feeling like Jessica Simpson...How do I changed the ink in my HP deskjet F2180 printer??
click on the link below and you will get step by step instructions for changing ink cartridges. Good Luck. How do I changed the ink in my HP deskjet F2180 printer??
Not sure of specific model but leave it plugged in, leave it ON and just open the door to the ink. It will register in the system and slide across.. generally you push down on the side closest to the front to dislodge it.

    Printer Ink Question!!!?

Can I use an HP Black #21 and Color #22 in a printer that needs a Black #72 and Color #75Printer Ink Question!!!?
I assume you mean hp #74 and #75. The answer is no. The cartridges have a different body style, different electrical contacts, and different printheads. If you do get it to fit, you might not get it out.

Stick with the 21/22 or look it up on HP to see if it will take a higher capacity 27 or 56 black.Printer Ink Question!!!?
Well if they fit in there you can see if they work but you can't be sure if they work correctly until you try. They give you the number to show which one to use but others may or may not work. Right now I am using a 21 in place of a 27 without any problems.

  • Are you sick of paying $16,000 per gallon for printer ink?

    I just bought HP 93 (tri-color).

    I gave HP $22 for 5 mL.

    Do the math:

    1 US gallon = 3,785.4118 ml

    3785 / 5 = 757 cartridges per gallon.

    757 x 22 = $16,654

...And you silly people complain about oil? Ha!Are you sick of paying $16,000 per gallon for printer ink?
holy crap!!!! I think I'm in the wrong business

time to look at refill kitsAre you sick of paying $16,000 per gallon for printer ink?
    yea whats up with that
    its pretty ridic
and we complain paying $3.25 for a gallon of gas

    go figure
yeah, thats flat out absurd isn't it. good luck.
When you put it like that, yes, I am sick of paying high prices for printer ink -- especially if the cartridge clogs and won't produce a print job.
I think I'm gonna quit printing...
    Hell yes!

    Hahah.
Well, the printer doesn't suck down a gallon in just a few minutes like a car does.

but yes, it's ridiculously expensive. But supply and demand, 6 billion people print stuff every day so the price will go up and up
    Holly cow :(

I think I'm going to cry.
Wow, we are getting ripped off.

    Outrage!!!
haha wow, I never thought of it that way.

Imagine how much you would have to pay for Epson printer in, cuz that stuff is way expensive.

    jeez.....

    thanks for the new info!

    =]
    That puts it in perspective.
    complete rip off!!!
WOW! But hay, a gallon if ink is a lot. Thank God its not that much for gas.

In a HP Deskjet 697C printer, where does the color ink go?

I need help and Fast!In a HP Deskjet 697C printer, where does the color ink go?
There are 2 slots. the one on the right is black, the other (the bigger one) is for color. I assume you know enough to lift the cover over where the paper comes out in order to access the ink cartridges, although the nature of the question makes me wonder. I've had one for years-nice printer, a little slow.In a HP Deskjet 697C printer, where does the color ink go?
go to www.hp.com click support and drivers

enter ';deskjet 697'; in the searchbox, choose the specific version

Use their help guides, complete with pictures tofind the full info
    RTFM.

It's all explained in the printer User Manual, and that's what they're for.

Printer & ink ok, but won't print word doc. prints from other sources, even web pages.Totally foxed?

In word, go to file and print. When the print box opens, check the drop down list under ';Printer Name'; to make sure that the correct source (ie your printer, and not some random other source) is selected. Click Print as normal.

Hope this help! Had the same issue a few weeks ago myself...

    Printer/ink quesiton...?

    i have a HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one

the problem occured before i bought a new black ink cartridge but i thought it maybe had to do with that there was not enough ink so i bought a new one. the printer has plenty of ink but when i print out black it comes out this dark reddish brown color. this doesnt happen with any of the colors except black, could anyone tell me what is wrong?Printer/ink quesiton...?
I would start by going through the built in maintenance for the printer - clean the printheads then align the cartridges. Test the printer again to see what happens. Also make sure you are using genuine HP ink - no generics.

    Printer Ink Problems...?

i have a lexmark printer and i ran out of colored ink so i bought some...it was the right kind and i have black ink too. but when i print stuff it is all faded like there isnt any color in there.. why? i dont know whats wrong with it...its really faded and discolored...what should i do?

    thanks.Printer Ink Problems...?
Sometimes when you change the ink the jets can get clogged. There should be something under your printer properties to let you do maintenance and clean them just through the click of a button.Printer Ink Problems...?
Did you pull sticker thing off your cartridge?

Did you calibrate or what ever that is? Try that.

If it doesn't work take the whole darn printer with you cord and all to the store and make them put a cartridge in it that works!!

God I am so sick of these people selling me things for my PC that are costly and don't work, wether it be because it's not compatible to my computer or its defective. So that's what I do. That way they can't just smile and say ';try this'; leaving you helpless. You fight with it again for another hour then if (IF) the store is still open you go back yet another time. Gas is too high priced for all these trips right? Take the thing with you!!

Printer Ink, Has anyone bought from here?

Has anybody ever tried ink from carrot ink.com?

If so how was it,? It's sure a lot cheaper.Printer Ink, Has anyone bought from here?
PJ - I have not tried that site - I use myinks.com - compare themPrinter Ink, Has anyone bought from here?
Those sites usually sell remanufacturer print cartridges with no warranty on them. Plus, you have to pay for shipping and it usually ends up cheaper to order new cartridges from HP anyway. Order from HP's site, they have free next day shipping:

You can install these cartridges again, please try to follow these instructions below:

    1) Turn on the printer; take out the old used cartridges

    2) Turn off the printer for a few minutes

    3) Turn on the printer, when it says ';insert inks';, and then insert the compatible cartridges one by one, making sure the cartridges are sitting completely in the slots.

Please also shake the cartridgesPrinter ink stopped working?
Taking out and replacing a cartridge does NOT cause a printer to stop working.Something else must have taken place, Check to see if the ink cartridges are in the correct color slots.Power your printer off for 15 seconds and back on may help getting it going again.
    Check for sweeties.
