Printer ink question!?

well i have a printer i bought iwth the computer, i use to use it a bit, and i want to start using it again, i replaced the ink in it a few times, its a fairly new printer too i might add, anyway how long does the ink usually last, because last time i used it there was alot left, is there any chance of using that ink i had left off with? or am i out of luck and need to buy new stuff?Printer ink question!?
All you have to do is print something and if it doesn't look good you need ink. Go to Wall Greens they refill them for $10.00 for black and $15.00 for color.Printer ink question!?

Ok, my printer is a Lexmark 1200 Series (X1240) All-In-One scanner printer. my black ink cartridge is 17 and my color ink cartridge is 27, they both wont work, they are kinda brand new, i was wondering how i fix this problem, like is there a way i can clean them so that i can print again???Printer Ink Cartridge Question!!!!?
Did you take off the sticker part of the cartrigde with you brought it. That might be your problem with your printer ink cartridge.

Printer ink help!! it's not empty!?

I have a epson printer... GROSS yeah it's the CX5400 and i went to buy ink... yes its the correct one but when i refilled the ink it still said empty i restarted it and everything! 16 dollars for magenta ink!!! how can i fix this???

and can i get a refund from office max?!?

MAN epson sucks.Printer ink help!! it's not empty!?
OMFG I had this same printer and had the exact same problem but it was the black ink, I ended up getting pissed and returned it after several troubleshooting attempts and working with their indian customer service. Do yourself a favor and get a new printer.

I even had em send me a brand new ink cartridge it still didn't work. Too bad too it would of been a nice cheap scanner/printer setup.Printer ink help!! it's not empty!?
I believe you get 1 year manufactures warranty on printers bought in a retail store, so if you qualify, call epson for technical support.

If not, you can try and replace the printer heads of the cartridges for they could have dried up since it is in fact an ink jet printer.
Epson counts the number of pages you print and then ';declares'; the cartrige ';empty'; whether it is empty or not. This is done via the little chip that is on each cartiridge. If you are refilling the cartridges yourself, you need to also reset the chip during refilliing, or the cartridge will still tell the computer thati it is ';empty.';

BTW, my personal experience with Epson color cartriges is that they don't refill well. The compatibles do work well, and are about 1/5 the price. The reason refilling color in Epson does not work well is because the nozzles of the typical Epson printer are finer than most machines. The ink required, therefore, must pass through an extreemly small nozzle. The refill inks typically are not fine enough and will eventually clog your nozzles. I will list my favorite souce for compatibles below.
your printer must be used atleast once in a week. else the ink will become solid. try using a new catridge. take it to the company which refilled it. ask their suggestion also. BOL . keep me posted

Do you want to save on printer Ink? Good Tip?

Look printer ink is not cheap. so if you care to read this it may save you time ( because of a quicker print rate) and money ( using less ink)

When you print something, always check the printer properties settings. generally under PRINT QUALITY.

you will have the option of Best ect,,

now just for black only.. lots of text, always use Fast Draught

this uses far less ink and will save you over time.

Does this help??Do you want to save on printer Ink? Good Tip?
I just use pencil.Do you want to save on printer Ink? Good Tip?
my tip would be not to buy any hp printer. why? well a decent printer could cost you 拢90 - 拢 100, but with hp the inks cost around 拢27 - 拢 30 each!!! which means that in a life time you will end up paying more for your inks than the printer itself.

i ended up getting a printer from a shop that refills my cartridges for 拢4 each, alot cheaper. and they last longer too.

this is only my opinion tho.
Good tip thanx, my tip is I only use the black ink to print when doing documents, web pages, they sometimes have ads or pictures that I dont really need to have printed in color.
yes u wanna use non color saves way more ink
Excellent advice - thanks. Just tried it.
Not to me! I already knew that! Good that you provided the info tho! Most people dont! Good job!
thanks

It can not affect the print quality nor should it damage your printer, if installed correctly.

I assume you are in the UK since in the USA the cartridges must be remans now. Check out to see what warranty they have. Usually the better the warranty, the better the product is.Printer ink . is this any good ?

I have a HP Photosmart C3100 series printer. When I go to check the ink levels I get the fallowing message. I have a canon mp 160 printer and after I refilled the ink I have an e5 error code how do i reset it?

the e5 code means that the printer thinks that the wrong cartridge is in the printer, which isn't so. It is the same cartridge as before.I have a canon mp 160 printer and after I refilled the ink I have an e5 error code how do i reset it?
sounds like to me that you have cartidge burnout...an old cartidge or one that was run dry. The way to tell this is take the cartidge back to the store that refilled it, and ask them to run a test page on their printer. If it doesn't work with their's, then it is time to buck up and either replace the cartidge or get a new printer, hope it helps!I have a canon mp 160 printer and after I refilled the ink I have an e5 error code how do i reset it?
I have not got my other Canon printer installed which is similar to yours to check but sounds like you need to reset the printer. Mine used to do that and I would have an orange triangle light up I seem to remember. There should be a little button on the panel that has a red triangle inside a red circle. Hold this down hard until the orange light goes of. If it does not work first time try turning the printer off then on after a minute and if that still does not help press the re-set button again. It seems like ages that you are holding the button but it needs a firm press or it won't work.

I have a HP photosmart C3100 printer and I need to get some ink for it. ?

I have heard that I can get my old cartridge refilled for the fraction of the price of a new one. Where would I get this done? I live in Leeds.I have a HP photosmart C3100 printer and I need to get some ink for it. ?
You can't really refill HP cartridges. The ink level is determined by a chip and that can't be reset.I have a HP photosmart C3100 printer and I need to get some ink for it. ?
It isn't weird that refilled cartridges of hp show no indication of ink level, The reason is printer wont look inside the cartridge to show you the ink level, Actually what happens is that printer memory stores the cartridge chip number(Some what technical), As soon as the ink dries the memory of the printer notes down that the cartridge is empty(it records), Then after refilling, when you insert the cartridge in to the printer, again it wont look inside the cartridge for the ink level, it will read the chip. According to the printer the cartridge is old, its nothing but the same old empty chip, this is the reason refilled Hp cartridges wont show the ink level. When you buy a new hp cartridge, its a new chip so it works.Try searching in Google on how to reset the hp cartridge.
my friend its so simple, its true u can refill the cartage and as the another friend say that it dont show the ink level is only his own mistake, bcoz when u refill the ink so u must run the wizard again or simply reinstall the printer.

and remember u can refill a black n white cartage for 5-20 times till the printing got affected.

and color cartage can only be refill 3-5 times, bcoz after that color cartage got refilled for 2,3 times its printing result go lower n lower !!

so u should change the cartage after 3-5 time refilling !!
You should be able to get the kit at most computer stores, but I would not waste my time doing it.Trust me,it is not worth the trouble.I have a 3800,and I tried it (once was enough ).Like I said,it is not worth it.

When I put toner in my printer, do i need to put ink too?

I'm going to buy a laser printer and I'm really confused. What is toner? DO i have to put in toner and ink in? HelpWhen I put toner in my printer, do i need to put ink too?
Toner and ink mean the same thing, but people refer to it depending on the type of printer in use.

as for laserjet printer, it is refered to as Toner (in powder form) while if it were to be deskjet or inkjet, it is called ink (in Liquid form).

You only need Toner if you buy Laser printerWhen I put toner in my printer, do i need to put ink too?
I think you are confusing yourself with ink jets vs laser printers.

The toner is the equivalent of ink for laser printers. There is no separate ink for laser printers. Some manufacturers call it dry ink toner which doesn't help.
toner is the ink for laser printers.

all you will need to buy is the toner.

you need to open your printer and see which cartrage is there there should be number on it. i use 4 in one also and its use 56 Black and 57 Color catrage. you need to open you printer cover and see the cartrage inside and there number and bay new one form market.I Have a 4-in-1 Dell Printer. What Ink Cartridges can I use for it? Where can I find them?
Really any computer store (OfficeMax, BestBuy etc.) but you will ether you will need the cartridge number or the printer model. As far as having to use a dell cartridge that's BS. A word of advice don't buy into Dell's proprietary Crap (Dude I wont be getting another Dell).
You need to use the Dell catridges, however there are companies that sell good alternatives, that work well--go to Google and ask for Dell Printer Cartridges...and read what they have to say, you will probaly find a good choice without buying from Dell.
Press F1 select printer select printer cartridge
You are mostly correct. Dell would like you to think that you can't use any other cartridges, but there are many ways to refill them using 3rd party tools.

However, finding those tools and sites is kind of a pain, and the easiest way is to go to the dell site and purchase them online. (and this way you will be SURE that the cartridges will fit.)

I cannot give you a clearer answer of where to purchase 3rd party tools without knowing the printer model. However, if you decide to purchase directly from dell, you can do so by visiting this site:

Whats the diferance between a lazer jet printer and a ink jet printer?

An ink jet printer shoots ink at the paper. A laser printer uses powder that is heated up along a rod and the letters are 'stuck' to the paper using electrostatic charges.Whats the diferance between a lazer jet printer and a ink jet printer?
If you make lots of copies and want them fast...get a Laser. Color is available also!

Ink Jets are the cheaper printers for printing an occasional eMail or term paper, even a color picture once in a while.

搂搂Whats the diferance between a lazer jet printer and a ink jet printer?
If you are thinking of buyin a laser printer or an inkjet printer, here is a good article http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/index.php/鈥?/a>

As far as I know, laser printers are best for black and white as they are faster and black and white cartridges are cheaper for the large amount that you can print out with them.

However, inkjet are generally slower and more value for money if you want to print color.

    Hope it helps!
At a very simple level, the practical difference to the user is that the laser printer makes up the image of a whole page at a time then prints it very quickly. An inkjet effectively prints the page a character at a time and doesn't necessarily take more than a line into its memory at any given time.

They use very different technologies, though in essence (amazingly) most of the ideas go back a couple of hundred years.

Inkjets tend to be cheaper to buy but very much more expensive to run

    Inkjets tend to be slower

Inkjets, because they're line printers rather than page printers, tend not to be able to print as near to the top and the bottom of a page as lasers can, so you have to use bigger top and bottom margins

Material produced on inkjets tends to be less resistant to fading and to the ink running when it gets wet

Laser printers work by fusing toner (carbon, for black print) into the paper under heat and pressure and tend to produce the most permanent print currently available.

Colour laser printers are amazingly cheap.

In point of fact all printer manufacturers now seem to aim to make their money out of the supply of toner or ink, rather than by selling printers. Accordingly the big question is not the initial price, but the cost of toner or ink. ';Do it yourself'; refilling of toner cartridges (and some ink cartridges) is possible at very economical prices.

All in all, at the current moment laser printers are faster and much less troublesome, as well as being cheaper to run. If you choose one which uses cartridges it's easy to refill, then you're on to a winner.

Those refill kits cause problems like that. I would try tapping the cartridge on a moist towel to make sure the ink is flowing and there are no vacuum spots in the cartridge. Then reinstall and go to the printer maintenance folder and make sure the number shown for the cartridge is correct. Finally print a test page. Good luck.I have a printer problem with the ink the printer is a lexmark z735?
Sounds like an electrical failure in the cartridge. It just happens some times. No fixes for it.
Yours problem is hardware related and need these instructions

. can you refill by self if this than put out your refill cartridge try to clean your cartridge head with petrol are other cleaning liquid with a soft cloth. booth side printing side and side which connect with circuit.

after this if there is some ink drooped than put it again trying to print.

epson cx5400. i asked a question earlier about my printer, ink and error message i have now managed to get rid of the error message and i have gone through the menu and cleaned things and checked everything, i have also changed the ink i do know they are all in correct and in the right place, but its only printing in red and some yellow?Still having probs with printer/ink?
You need to do several Cleaning Cycles which uses a lot of ink. Here's the solution: Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

    http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/Still having probs with printer/ink?
maintenance, head cleaning, do this 3 or 4 times, then print test to see if any bits missing in printout, clean head again.
    take out cartridges

clean the heads in printer with a cotton bud %26amp; methylated spirit

How can i correct the cannon inkjet printer's fault---(';ink absorber is full'; --- so cannot print) ?

Another ripoff by the printer companies. It's a Waste Ink Pad. I do not know how to reset it, BUT I can tell you where to go. I have one for my Epson and installed it before it was full. Go to this website and check out CISS for your printer and look for the Waste Ink System. You can call them for info, but I suggest you give them an order first. Great company with good tech support. http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/

BTW, the CISS will save you tons of money, never change cartridges and always have ink. It pays for itself in a month.

  • How can I clean my black printer heads without it eating the remainder of my color ink??

I have an Epson C86, I had ink refilled a few months ago, my computer crashed, so it sat for awhile. I tried cleaning it after my pc was working and it used up all my ink (along with the majority of my color ink). Today I just bought a brand new black in cartridge, and I've been cleaning it, and it has been progressing, but I don't want to use up the remainder of my color ink in the process of cleaning the heads (It's about 15 or so bucks for each and there is 3 in total, yellow, magenta, and cyan). Anyway I can just ONLY clean the black ink???How can I clean my black printer heads without it eating the remainder of my color ink??
You can't epsons do not have the option of cleaning one side only. The best you can do is hope that you don't have to do to many head cleanings to solve the problem. How can I clean my black printer heads without it eating the remainder of my color ink??
In some printers, there is an option, at the time you print, wich allows the printer to only use the black cartridge...

U go to properties, then probabily features and look for it...

I have a HP and im too lazy to buy a new color cartridge, im using that feature all the time :D

Sometimes, they dont put this option to force the users to buy more cartridges %26gt;.%26gt; hope its not the case...

Good luck and good black printings ^^
epson usually won't allow you to remove a cartridge and still print, (like HP will), because if you remove a cartridge and then reinstall it, the printer thinks its empty. however, if you can run the printer with only the one cartridge, then i would remove the color cart and then run the cleaning cycles.

What鈥檚 your opinion using solid ink in phaser printer machines? ?

    HP All-in-one Printer Ink Problem?

I have an HP Photosmart c3180 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier which has worked fine for almost a year and a half. Now everytime it prints, the colors all come out with this sort of pinkish hue? Should I get a new color cartridge and see if that solves things or is there a problem with my printer?HP All-in-one Printer Ink Problem?
Most likely cause is your running low on one of the 3 main colours in your colour cartridge. Yep, you need a new colour cartridge. Doesnt the printer have utilities that allow you to check printer ink levels?HP All-in-one Printer Ink Problem?
Just try to get new ink cartridges. If that doesn't work just go into your printer program and try to do anything like a nozzle check, head cleaning and print head alignment.
You should change your cartridge, it means that it's running out of ink. When you install a new cartridge, it'll print a test page and you should see it from there.

    Decent Printer Ink?

I've got an Epson RX600 printer and the six cartridges, if bought as original Epson, cost and arm and a leg. I have resorted to buying replacements on eBay but they don't always run freely and text printing can be poor or the cartridges have to have their heads cleaned before every print. Yes, I know, false economy but can anyone recommend a site where cartridges replicate the performance of original equipment and at a reasonable price?Decent Printer Ink?
Epson printers are fussy about their inks. While ink cartridge company 4inkjets sells refill kits, they will not sell refill kits for Epson ';due to the sensitivity of the Epson print head.'; My guess is that your eBay sources tried to refill Epson cartridges and botched the job.

Follow either of the two links below for reputable companies that sell refurbed print cartridges. Both guarantee their product and have been around for a while.Decent Printer Ink?
Try Ebay - sorry I see you already have!!!!!!
You might try going to a Staples store. I've never used these, but, they do have a house brand of most ink jet cartridges that are cheaper than the ones put out by HP, Canon, Epson, etc.
I have 2 Epson printers. The new one hasn't needed a refill - yet. The old one is an Epson C20 and I use injection refills. They work fine, and are a lot cheaper and last a lot longer than buying new cartridges.
try www.carrotink.com I have an epson stylus and can get 2 color and 3 black for $50.00 and no shipping..customer service is great. I print good pictures all the time. have used them for about 5 years.
I always get mine from inkbox www.inkboxonline.co.uk. I seldom have any problems with what they supply and the only time I had they just changed it.
Yeah, I know it's expensive. But there's no substitute for a good printer cartridge. Can't you just steal them from work?

    Lexmark Printer- ink?

I have a Lexmark 2500 series. I just got some ink and the black ink works, but not the colored one. [they're in the same box] The colored one says the number [2] on it?

    HELP?!

    thanks a bunch!Lexmark Printer- ink?
Check to see if the hole where the colored ink would go through is clogged. You can use a QTip and alcohol to clean it out if it is. You can often take the printer to a computer shop and they can do it for you, but they may charge you.

Usually this model won't print unless it detects both black and color ink, so if you can print black, there is a good chance that the color cartridge cradle/output is clogged. You should also try another, new, name brand (not generic) color cartridge just to make sure it isn't the cartridge itself. Just because they came in the same box doesn't mean anything - especially if they are generic or refilled, etc.Lexmark Printer- ink?
I would return it and get a replacement cartridge. Sounds like the printhead is dried out. You could try a damp warm cloth on it to see if the ink will come out.

  • Brother Printer Ink??

Hey, I have a questions about my printer. I have a brother MFC 210 and when I click to see the ink volume, it says there's plenty left! 2, or 3 bars left of the + sign. 5 bars to the right of the - sign for all of the colors, Black, R, Y, B. How do I get the maximum ink out of my cartridge? I've only used the black ink for three months and it seems to be running out.Brother Printer Ink??
The best way to save with this printer is to unplug it after use. Consider printing everything needed at one time since the brother is the only printer that uses the continuous cleaning method instead of the wipe method. The brother method cleans our wallets while it is cleaning the machine. In other words, periodically whether the printer has been used or not, it goes into a cleaning mode and each time it cleans it siphons out ink.

One other option - Well, I played around with it for a bit and found something which works -- sometimes.

If you take the Brother ink cartridges (mine is a 5840CN) and tip them sideways so the ink rests on the ';window'; side (which the machine views to know how much is left). Hold it there for a few seconds and then install the cartridge and close the machine quickly it will SOMETIMES be tricked into thinking the cartridge is full. But only sometimes. Sometimes shaking the cartridge a bit (so the ink is full of bubbles) works, but I don't like that method in case it gets air into the print head. And again, it doesn't work all the time.

    Brother Printer Ink??
Ink printers use up some ink just in idle mode. If ink wasnt constantly flowing to the heads, the ink which always remains on the heads after printing would dry up and the printer would become useless. But the cartridges are only $3 or $4. If you get 3 months use out of it, that's pretty good.

No there is no way to de-activate the status window. All newer HP printers have a memory on them. It will remember the last 3-5 cartridges installed. Almost a 'negative' answer...ditch the printer, search ebay for 'Continuous Ink Supply', get new printer that will take the system, and, believe it or not, by the time you have used the ink that comes with the system you will have recovered the cost of the system and printer. System cost $70, refil ink (60 carts worth) $30. If you go this way, be sure to get a 'pre-filled system.
    Try this out.

    My printer/ink helppp?!?

well my ink cartlidge (sorry for the misspelling) still has some black ink in it. But everytime i go to print something, have of the page is all blurry and the words get all chopped off. is there anyway i can keep the ink from cutting off?My printer/ink helppp?!?
If its blurry try and clean the printer heads and realign the printer, through the printer properties. Also if the words are still getting chopped off (my guess is on the right side of the page) and its from printing a webpage in portrait, try printing in landscape or print it by copying to a word program and print it from there.

When the ink becomes too low you will find the text on the print outs will become fainter and fainter.

    Lexmark printer ink..?

I have just refilled my ink cartridge but when I try to print, the computer says the cartridge is empty and won't print.

    Anyone know what's going on?

    xoLexmark printer ink..?
You have wasted your money. The ';smart chip'; monitors ink usage and is not consumer resettable. The print heads are not made to be refilled successfully, as the replacement ink is different from the OEM ink that it was designed to use in the first place.

If cost is the primary reason for refilling, then consider getting a Kodak printer. The replacement tanks cost about half of what other manufactures charge.Lexmark printer ink..?
Lexmark's new model of printers WILL not print with refills - ever!

As other have said cartridges have chips in them that tell the printer the ink is out and this in turns sends a warning to you to buy new ink.

The cartridge nor the printer can physical see inside the cartridge so it is still empty to it no matter how much ink you put in it. It needs new chip with new information to tell it you have a new ink so print! The old chip is essential dead.

With some of the individual ink cartridge sytstems you can buy a chip re-setter as they have a microchip on them. With the two ink sytems there are not resetter machines availbale to my knowledge so unless your printer lets you print by resetting it manually, which then constantly tells you before every print the ink is low, then it will not print. Lexamrk are one make of printer that will not let you ever reset -full stop. Canon and HP will.
You'll need a resetter. Go and google you cartridge number, and then start adding words like refill, reset, compatibles etc. and you'll find a way to do it. It's not just a case of top-up and away you go, the manufacturers have gotten wise to that, there many ways to print on the cheap, CISS, chipping, eeprom reprogramming etc.. Have fun!
the answer depends on your printer model. Check out this page http://www.castleink.com/_a-lexmark-rese鈥?/a> which lists out instructions for each kind of Lexmark printer.

  • Dell printer ink refill's?

I would just get new cartridges from DELL. If you are doing alot of printing, consider a printer that has cheaper cartridges. This could save you a TON of money. I recommend Canon. The cartrides are MUCH cheaper. The printing is BETTER. Since the color cartridges are separate, you don't waste any ink when just one color goes dry. You will probably find that it pays for itself after just 8 cartridge sets. (maybe sooner)Dell printer ink refill's?
You can use an generic refill kit for the dell inkjet printers. The cheapest and most common would be a product by the name of nu-kote, which is sold at most Wal- Marts for about $14 for the color kit and $10 for the black counterpart.

HP printer ink -- refill OK?? ?

I do a lot of copying on my printer and usually buy XL ink Cartridges. They cost me between $15-20.

Now, on ebay I see people are selling ink refillers for like $1.99..

Is it a bad idea to refill the ink that way? Will it ruin my printer?

ThanksHP printer ink -- refill OK?? ?
refills are much cheaper but I don't trust them. I'm afraid of leaks. If you get a leak, you have a huge mess on your hands!

Be careful with ebay - some sell expired cartridges.HP printer ink -- refill OK?? ?
we've been using a local refiller service for years and it's great. they guarantee their cartridges and if we ever hav a problem they just do a free replacement which has rarely happened (we have a lot of printers, faxes etc at office)

most useful thing he told us was to not let the inkjets dry out cause that's what really messes them up. diff brands work differently but ultimately if any one dries out replace immed don't let the printer feed get dried up

New black ink cartridge still no printing on Kodak printer?

Had printer for about 6 months. it has worked fine. the black ink wouldnt show up, but the color will. we bought a new black in cartridge (the one we always buy, the best) and it still wont print out anything dark or black and it usually kinda turns out white but a little gray. what should i do? the settings are fine, but it still wont work!

viviNew black ink cartridge still no printing on Kodak printer?
If you only had it six months you need to get it repaired as it should come with a year's warranty. If it has never shown the black and now want print then I would think that its a problem with printer. Contact either Kodak or where you bought it from and they should have to fix it for you.

what should be the problem?Printer ink problem?
    Question: Is your printer new?

If it isn't that probably is the cause of the problem, since you've mentioned you've bought new ink but still has the same result as the old ink you have.

Try cleaning up your printer. Dust and ink residue usually gets clogged on the printer's way and thus not getting the quality of prinouts you expect.

For cleaning your printer, if it's too expensive to hire a technician who could do that, ask some friend who knows. Or you can check Epson's site, they might have some tips on how to clean your printer. :DPrinter ink problem?
Take out the ink tanks and seal the outlets.

    Take out the print head.

Soak the print head in isopropyl alcahol.

Clean the printer with the same.

Install the head and ink tanks.

Run the normal printer cleaning tests.
maybe it is printing in draft/economy - check your printer settings and change it to standard. Other than that I don't know.

  • Epson DX8450 printer refillable ink cartridges?

read http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html about the risks of refilling cartridgesEpson DX8450 printer refillable ink cartridges?
I would advise against refilling your own Epson cartridges. Other brands are fairly easy to refill - but not Epson. They are purposely manufactured in such a way as to discourage this.

As an alternative, I'd suggest compatible ink cartridges. They tend to perform just as well as original Epson cartridges, but are half the price.
refillable cartridges do not work as the print head needs to be reset which is a job for an expert
Generally no problem, however, the colour match is not as good as the genuine thing. This only really matters if you are printing photos or colour matched graphics http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk

Can you refill ink cartridges without damaging your printer?

I have an inkjet printer, purchased from a well known manufacturer and distributor. They plainly state not to refill your cartridges as you will destroy your printer. I just recently purchased a refill kit that states I can safely refill my cartridges that came from this manufacturer. Is the claim of ';destruction'; true or is it a marketing strategy for ink sales? Thanks a bunch!!!Can you refill ink cartridges without damaging your printer?
Yes, you can refill your cartridges, and your refill kit states that you can refill you cartridges that come from that manufacturer, but what was not stated was the ';MODEL'; of the printer. for instance 'HP'. they have different models of inkjet printers,'5100','5500',3800 etc and all the cartridges are not the same, some you can refill without problems and some you cannot, i think what was stated on your printer is for your own good. Can you refill ink cartridges without damaging your printer?
No one can answer this question without knowing what the printer is, and what the ink refill is.

There are 10 basic types of printer mechanisms. Within these groups are dozens of specific modifications from each of the manufacturers.

Most can be refilled with specific inks. SOme, cannot be filled with '; GENERIC '; inks, since the inks will clog or congeal with the existing inks.

If you state the printer type, I can tell you much information. Without this information, anyone would

be giving you meaningless information, since the different printers use VASTLY different technology, and the success

and ease of refill vastly vary.

your question is like asking '; I HAVE A CAR _ HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT? '; What car?

    NEED MORE INPUT.
Yep, but it can be a mess...believe me!
Using refillable ink cartridges is not recommended as it really can damage your printer. Not to mention it will also void your warranty. Granted you might be able to get away with it, but if you do have a problem and try to get technical support/service you will be SOL.
They say that so you will buy only their ink cartriges, I have been refilling my ink cartriges for years and have never had a problem.

    Oem vs. aftermarket printer ink?

I considering purchasing aftermarket in tanks for my canon MP600 all-in-one. I can not decide if the ink will be good. I am using it at work for photos but the photos don't have to last long just to show customers, and then they can get rid of them. I am not printing family photos to last in scrap books forever. Any one have thoughts...Oem vs. aftermarket printer ink?
Some of the ink from re-fill kits aren't smudge-proof and waterproof like some of the ink made by the printer manufacturers - this might be a concern.

Generally, the ink colour is comparable to the manufacturer's ink, but if you are thinking of buying a re-fill kit, then you should buy it from a place with a money-back guarantee.

(The same goes for remanufactured ink cartridges.)

Check your local Yellow Pages to see if there are any places that re-fill ink cartridges. One place which may have a franchise located near you is this one:

Anyone know how ro remove the ink cartridges from the printer?

Vastly depends upon the printer. We've had 3 HPs so far, each different. The past 2 are the ones I remember. The current one, has a little thingie you lift up, at the top front end of the cartridge, and when you lift it up, the cartridge virtually leaps out at you. The printer before this, one could press down upon the front edge of the cartridge, and the cartridge would gracefully lean toward the person doing the pressing and one could gracefully grasp the cartridge and remove it...

Check on the innards of the printer (like, say, the underside of the lid, or the drum next to the cartridges) and there may be an unworded picture showing a hand-motion instruction for removing the cartridge.Anyone know how ro remove the ink cartridges from the printer?
Depends on your Manuf. and model.

On some printers..you turn the printer ';On'; then when you open the access cover...the Printhead along with the cartridges will move to the center allowing you access to remove them.........otherwise the printhead will be to the extreme left..or right side...in a difficult area to remove the cartridgesAnyone know how ro remove the ink cartridges from the printer?

how can i fix this?Inks in printer but computer doesnt not detect ink. why?
Nothing can be more annoying than black lines, faded regions or faded text when printing a document you have worked long and hard on. Doing a printer cleaning is the best way to always have a clean and readable document.

    Two type of printers

Whether the printer is an Epson printer, HP printer, or a Canon printer the general procedure for cleaning is the same. If the printer happens to be a bigger printer, for items such as advertising on larger format materials, the process is a bit more exaggerated but essentially the same.

    Every day printers

Cleaning an every day office type printer usually just entails a good solid wipe down. The real trick is to not damage the printer by using cleaning items that are meant for other cleaning activities. Cleaning chemicals to avoid include alcohol or more harsh cleaning agents. These chemicals can damage electrical areas and do more harm than good. Try and stay with light cleaning supplies like baby wipes or a damp non shedding towel. In either case, do not let water get into contact with the inside of the printer whether it is an Epson printer, canon printer or any other.

    Cleaning the printer

The very first thing to do is unplug the printer. Make sure that all lights are out and that the plug is away from the unit.

Open the front of the printer, with a damp non-shedding cloth give a light wipe down looking for dust build up or paper shards. If the paper has been appearing with black marks on the back, look inside the printer and wipe excess ink away. Make sure to wipe this area again so that there is no remaining moisture.

A clean printer cartridge is also a must clean area. Remove each cartridge and gently wipe excess ink away. Be sure not to leave any fibrous material around exit ports. The paper receiver basket may need to be removed and check underneath for dust and paper shards around the legs. A proper printer cleaning also means wiping down the basket with a mild detergent. You can also use a cleaning cartridge, which helps to clean inaccessible points of printer by hand.

If the printer has not been used for some time a head cleaning will be needed. For a complete printer cleaning in this instance go to the control panel and printers. Here the unit will be able to run diagnostic programs and get the printer heads up.

    Larger specialized printers

With larger printers designed for more specialized uses, including large format blue prints or advertising mock-ups printer cleaning requires a differing approach. An approved vacuum system is the most important tool to have on-site. This vacuum should be static free, so as not to damage interior components through static shock, and have a separate motor unit to be kept away from the printer unit.

Cleaning the printer is particularly needed in the winter and spring. In the winter the air is dry and dust is attracted. Be careful so as not to set off a static charge. In spring pollen can get anywhere no matter how you try. A printer cleaning makes all involved happier and healthier with less dust and pollen involved.Inks in printer but computer doesnt not detect ink. why?
Is your ink compatible with the printer. we have had inks bought from a computer fair, and the printer said they were not official. however they have worked. So i am not sure what you should do next.

Is it advisable to use dye based refill ink in photo printers to print photos ?

Thank you.Do you use refill ink ( not original ) cartridges in your photo printer ?
Yes it is OK to use a ( i don't know what a dye based ink is ) and I have done this for 20 years, what I think you could be saying is a pigmented ink in photo printers, yes all photo printers can print text no problem, I was trained by a certified HP service technician 20 years ago and I have also been refilling ink cartridges that whole time, I want to tell you a bit about ink, these printers only use a non pigmented ink, a pigmented ink and a photo ink and you must use photo ink for the photo cartridge, a pigmented ink with a pigmented cartridge and a non pigmented ink with a non pigmented cartridge, if you change the ink say from a non pigmented to a pigmented ink you will get smudges and streaking, I wish you would have mentioned what printer you have I could have been more helpfull but I hope it helped and good luck.Do you use refill ink ( not original ) cartridges in your photo printer ?
I use original ink in my HP All-in-one unit; sometimes refills don't connect all the contact points...and it does smudge easier.

I can't answer about photo printers; but again...I don't think I'd want to use a refill. (I'm pretty picky when I print things.)

At the last sale I bought three full sets of ink for my Canon for less than I would have paid for one set at the store. It became less hassle and even cheaper to buy from them than fill my own and not a messy. if your cartridges have chips, you will need to buy a chip resetter. if you have more than 2 cartridges in your epson (4 or 6 or more), i would not recommend refilling as it gets extremely complicated.

any other questions? i'll try to find them and answer!
I highly advise you to stay away form refills. I've used that method before and it isa waste of money and time and itsure as hell don鈥檛 work. In fact, itmake a mess, and if when you put in the cartridge, the print quality is beyond horrible. You can get ink cartridges from any major retailer such as Best Buy, Circuit City and especially CompUSA, or you can order them online, you just have to know what cartridge model your is.
Refills never work right. You can never get that pressure back and they sometimes leak.

Just search Froogle for your cartridge part number and buy a ';compatible'; or ';refurbished'; cartridge.

You can't, it uses all three of your colours to darken and sharpen the black. Also the additional ink acts as a cushion and coolant in the printer head to protect it from damage while printing.

  • Cheap Printer Ink Ruins Printers?

I had a Canon Bubblejet i450--I used aftermarket ink from a place called CartridgeWorld in Austin, TX. Within 6-8 months, my print head was clogged and not functioning at all! I blame the cheap ink!!! I will never do this again. Anyone else had this problem with their printer/ inkCheap Printer Ink Ruins Printers?
I agree with you that cheap inks are a bad idea. There's a reason they are so cheap. It's because they use very low quality ink in their cartridges. Even though manufacturer's ink is a few dollars more, the quality is much higher. A lot of research and developement goes into original manufacturer's ink, thus providing benefits as water proof photos, fade resistance, and higher dots per inch.

Also, cheap, refilled cartridges will void the warranty on your printer. I have an HP printer and I always buy the HP ink. I've never once had a problem with my HP ink cartridges (HP says that their cartridge failure rate is 2%, which means 98% of their cartridges will work just fine). Refilled cartridges are said to be 35 times more likely to fail, ruin your printer, or provide you with unsatisfactory results.

I've included a link to some research done on refilled cartridges.Cheap Printer Ink Ruins Printers?
You all must surely work for an INK MANUFACTURER because I've used CHEAP ink for a DECADE and the only thing it does is:

    SAVE ME MONEY

If you're not working for a cartridge firm then you must have had bad luck with your printer. Don't blame the ink. Report Abuse

Alot of the ';cheap'; inks are water based. The problem is inks are actually alcohol based. A way to use the cheap inks is to have a printer that uses ink with a printhead. Change the ink cart, change the printhead. A few models of printers use this method.
The first mistake is buying an inkjet printer.

We all buy inkjet or bubblejet because of low initial cost. If we use original cartridges at the end of two years warranty period we would spend so much on cartridge which would me than the cost of heavy duty color laser printer. And if we use cheaper ink cartridge or refill ink the printer gets damaged. If we use inkjet we have to accept these draw back.

And among inkjets EPSON is most reliable.
Methinx your first mistake was buyin a Canon!
It depends on the ink you're buying, of course. But this may have happened with Canon ink too. Some printers, epson... I think... have a new print head on each cartridge.

The printer has two cartridges, because the cartridges are movable they require alignment. When they are aligned properly your printer will print near perfect images. Without proper alignment the colors would bleed into each other.

I have an A920 DELL ALL IN ONE PRINTER. Is there another ink cartridge that will work other than DELL?

you can get a remanufacture one from Officemax, Officedepot, staples,

and part#T0530, they will work if you are not printing pictures.

    Brother printer/ink problem?

I have a Brother MFC 4 in 1 printer. Any time a color ink runs out, it will not even let me print in black and white. Is there any way around this. I just need to print b%26amp;w, but it wont let me b/c the yellow is out.Brother printer/ink problem?
    Nope.

Nothing you can do, the colour cartridges are needed to keep a consistent prime on the print head. This means that there is always a small amount of ink present in the print head of the cartridge. This is because the printer uses Ink sublimation in other worlds a lot of head to print. The residual ink left in the print head acts as a coolant. Without that ink even for black only printing you will warp and completely destroy the print head.

With many brother models as well a small amount of color ink is also used to darken and sharpen the black. so to answer your question, in order to print, you need to replace that yellow.Brother printer/ink problem?
well it depend on the mixture type of the printer, why not always allow the ink to remain a little , then you can be printing your blacks, also your printing can be sellect and choose black print, else the printer might be sensing other colour in the document send to be print
There may not be a way around this. Some printers do this because they have built-in printheads and will not allow printing once the cartridges are dry.

The reason is because if you fire the printheads while they are dry, the printheads will burn (kinda like boiling a kettle dry). And you will use some colors even though you print just B%26amp;W because the printhead needs to service itself by printing some ink.

The easiest way to work around it is to buy a new yellow cartridge and just continue printing B%26amp;W. The servicing should not take up too much ink and you will be able to go on printing for quite some time as long as you have black ink.

    My Printer Ink Level Problem?

Hi Guys.... I Got A New Hp D1500 Printer On Each Print The Ink Level Drops Down By 10% or So... Is This a Software problem or a hardware onei(.e is it really dropping 10%)????My Printer Ink Level Problem?
Are these the cartridge you got with the printer?

If they are then yes, they are actually dropping down by 10%. Printers now come with trial or starter cartridges which give only about 1/4 the pages of a normal manufacturer cartridges.

The cartridges that you printer normally takes are only 5ml, so they ar every small cartridges, however you should reasponably expect about 60 printer per cartridges out of a new cartridge, however out of the ones which came in the box, expect about 15-20.

Once your printer tells you the cartirdges are empty keep on printing until you start to see fading in your printers. The ink level is just an estimate and is rarely even remotely close to accurate. You may find that you can squeeze several pages out of a supposedly empty cartridge. My Printer Ink Level Problem?
this is a software problem if the cartridge is big.If its small and your printing pages with a lot of ink then its nothing wrong with the printer.I print a lot at home and when i print images with a lot of color it goes down about 8 percent

  • Wet printer ink on paper.?

I have an epson photo printer that when i print the ink stays wet. i have changed cartridges, but to no avail. any ideas?Wet printer ink on paper.?
Just let it dry for a second. Photo printers tend to have a high concentration of ink per square inch, and as such take longer to dry.Wet printer ink on paper.?
If this is an inkjet printer and you are printing on glossy paper, then that is fairly normal. It may take a minute or so to dry depending on the humidity.

    Homemade printer ink?

does anybody have a recipe for ink that is used in printersHomemade printer ink?
ethylene glycol, 2- pyrrolidine, alycadiol, arylazopyrazolsulphate (sp) salt.

Those listed are a few of the base materials. Because they are considered hazardous materials they are not readily available. That is of course just the base formula, barring of course the pigmentation (which is a trade secret).

To answer your question, due to the highly chemical nature of ink, and it's need to have a very low sublimation point there is no such thing as homemade ink.Homemade printer ink?
    you can use stamp ink.
you cant make your own ink...itll mess up your printer. you have to get the exact type for your printer
I work in the printer industry and you will not be able to re-create it on your own. You will probably ruin your printer if you attempt to use ';homeade'; inks.

    HP Printer --- ink refill?

I do a lot of printing and hate paying so much for new ink cartridges. I don't want to get a new printer because what I have is pretty new.

How safe is it to refill the ink? It's SO cheap, but I am worried about ruining my machine.HP Printer --- ink refill?
I have an HP Officejet 6110. All I have ever used with it are remanufactured ink cartridges. I tried once to refill them myself, but it's just too messy and time consuming. The remanufactured cartridges are professionally done, and I've honestly never had any issues with them. They tend to run about 50% less than getting the genuine cartridges. here is one online site where you can get them: http://www.castleink.com/_Hewlett-Packar鈥?/a>HP Printer --- ink refill?
Refilling ink cartridges works great, I do it all the time

Refilling black is simple as it only has one ink well

But for the color ink cartridge, do not go by the label affixed on the top. They do not match the color in the wells. You need to stick in a toothpick in each of the wells to see what color that they are
From what I've heard, refilling ink cartridges is a messy process. If you want to get ink cartridges for cheap, go to http://www.printpal.com. I've been buying my ink cartridges from there for a while now, and I save about $20 getting them from there instead of Wal-Mart. They also have free shipping!
Its not that bad or hard to refill it yourself. I did it for a long time. After awhile, though, it will stop working well and you will need to buy a new cartridge. Just buy a kit on eBay.
The Ink refils are junk they will clog up your machine.
It is very sloppy, check out the cost of cartridges at walgreens and clickinks

Can be printer epson ink refill to hp printer cartridges?

You will roast in the fires of hell if you do.

Lexmark printer ink. Must I use it?

Lexmark say using non-lexmark ink will damage printer. Many companies offer remanufactured cartridges at up to half price and Cartridge World offer to fill your empty ones. Anyone used either and are they OK?Lexmark printer ink. Must I use it?
They are ok but the quality of your prints will decline especially ones with a lot of color. And use of the remanufactured inks will void the Lexmark warranty since you aren't using Lexmark products. If your printer is over a year old, and the warranty has expired, then go ahead. I would choose refilling empty Lexmark cartridges over buying remanfactured or 3rd party cartridges.

Any thing other than new Lexmark cartridges can damage printer nozzles by clogging them with dried ink, and it can void the warranty if you don't use Lexmark brand products.Lexmark printer ink. Must I use it?
Recond cartridges are fine as long as they are the same #
I have always used refilled cartridges. And now I use a continuous ink system.

Never had a problem with either.

    Get the remanufactured cartridges.
I refilled mine several times with good result, then finally it stopped printing. A pro looked at it and told me the refill ink eventually burns onto something inside (coats it) and then it stops printing. He did clean it and ir worked again but only for a short time on the refil ink. Like someone else here said, saves money but will kill it sooner or later. I'm just buying another cheaper printer that will work better with refills
I refilled ink cartridges on two Lexmark printers for years with no hint of a problem.
I get mine from ebay and it works fine and cost is cheaper than new!
Many printers are almost given away as the manufacturer who knows the serious money is made on the high priced branded ink. .

You need to balance the investment cost of the printer with the saving you make on the ink. Often by using the cheaper ink you will save enough to cover any (unlikely) damage to the printer pretty quickly. Another thing to consider is the life of the pictures assuming that is what you are printing, some cheaper inks fade quicker in the daylight but are fine tucked up in an album.
I refilled a cartidge one time and it killed my printer because it spilled and all.. i think the dude that did it was unproffesional, so i made him pay my printer... I say it is fine aslong as a proffesional does it..

DELL printer ink problem PLZ help?

ok I have a dell photo 924 printer all in one. So it said out of black ink. So I go to a store to refill it with black ink instead of buying a new black ink cartrage. But when I put it back in it prints perfectly. But it still says black ink low. How can I make it say the amount of ink there is??DELL printer ink problem PLZ help?
most printers today have a chip in the cartridge which ';knows'; how much ink is left. unless you reset this chip with a programmer, it will always say low. Cartridges were designed to NOT be refilled. Refilling cartridges is a risky venture. you can read about it at http://ccs-digital.com/refills.html

Dell is the drug dealer of the printer business, giving away their printers to rip you off on the ink. You are better off buying another printer than continuing to support your ink habit.

I recommend Epson cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp

You can find the printers at buy.com, usually in the $60-$70 range BEFORE any rebates, if applicable.

Does anyone make an ink-jet printer, to print erasable ink onto paper, so that the printing can be erased.?

BTW the documents date from 1240 - 2006.Does anyone make an ink-jet printer, to print erasable ink onto paper, so that the printing can be erased.?
    CAUTION

There is NOTHING I know of that is 100% erasable on 800-year old documents. (or any documents)

ANYTHING written on them in ANY form (pen, Pencil, ';Special Marker';) will cause a permant mark that CANNOT be erased completely.Does anyone make an ink-jet printer, to print erasable ink onto paper, so that the printing can be erased.?
I don't know if it is currently possible, but it is in development.

    http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?i鈥?/a>

If I were you I would most certainly hesitate in attempting anything of the sort with any document that was even close to being 800 years old! if you want to reference them try keeping them in a box and placing the information on that. Much safer.
I've run into this before, I had to repair a printer where someone has taken bic erasable ink from ink pens and had used a syringe and put it in an empty cartridge. You can also purchase the ink from www.bicpens.com; the ink does work in a normal ink head but it needs to be thinned down. Becareful, it does get messy.
The only way is to retro fit a flat bed plotter with graphite tips.

You actually can purchase them new, however they will run you upwards of $10,000.
Write in pencil and then erase it!

  • Why should i buy a laser printer other than a ink jet printer...vice versa?

    Price - and quality.

Laser is usually more expensive, but yields excellent quality. Normally, does not run.

Inkjet - quality not quite as fine as laser, but less expensive. However, if you sneeze on it, or spritz water on the paper, the ink will run.

I have both. Both inexpensive. Picked up a Brother laser for $59.00 and a Canon inkjet all-in-one for $79. First thing I check on Sunday morning are the weekly ads from about six computer stores in my area. All my items were purchased on weekend specials. For home use, these printer are first-rate.Why should i buy a laser printer other than a ink jet printer...vice versa?
There's decent new laser printers for $60 to $80 with rebates and sales, so price isn't really an obstacle. Used laser printers can be had for under $100, or even free (join a local Freecycle mailing list). Toner refill kits can be found on eBay, or complete cartridges, for good prices. Laserjets sometimes develop paper jam problems with age; you can find repair kits on eBay for reasonable prices.

Cost per page with lasers is generally much lower than inkjet, and thats based on ';list price'; toner; refills, or generic toner carts should cut that even lower. From what I've seen, professionally refilled toner cartridges work fine, unlike inkjet refills which have often been lousy. Toner doesn't dry up like inkjet cartridges do if they aren't regularly used, so you should be safe buying old stock.

I bought a used HP 4L almost 10 years ago for my Mom, and it's still going strong in daily use. It's had one new toner cartridge in that period. I have a similar Canon LBP-430; one died after a while, but I scored a replacement for free from Freecycle. Both the 4L and LBP-430 use the identical toner cartridge. They were intended as home/small office printers, so don't hold much paper in the tray, but are pretty durable otherwise. And they have a straight-through paper path if you flip a thumbwheel on the back which is great for printing stickers or card stock. They don't have USB interfaces, but you can always get a USB to parallel adapter cable.

Inkjets? They're good for color printing, if you don't mind the cost of ink, and the need for good quality paper. Why should i buy a laser printer other than a ink jet printer...vice versa?
Lasers - Good: Long lasting cartridges, low cost per page on black, fast Bad: Cost, cost of cartridges

Inkjets - Good: better quality in photos, cheaper cartridges Bad: cartridges do not last as long, tri-color cartridges can get pricey

It all depends on what you need.
It all depends on what you are going to do with the printer. A laser is normally faster and higher volume capable for like in a business office where most documents are black and white. If for photo printing at home and fairly low volume, then go with a good inkjet, such as HP or Kodak. I like the new vivera HP because of individual ink tanks which are usually less wasteful.
Basically, Laser printers cost more to buy with lesser running cost. It prints sharper, especially when document or picture is zoomed in (enlarged), and does not run. Won't print those lovely colour pictures, except you go for the high-end colour printer.

Inkjet printers come cheap, but with higher running cost. What you save in purchase, you spend in buying ink. They come handy when you urgently need a home use printer and does not have much to invest. Poor print quality, but gives you lovely colour prints.

I always recommend you get both if you are have a heavy printing need with occasional need for presentation docs.

    is printer ink considered computer

    software?Printer ink question?
Hello, very good question. If it had to be categorized then I would say it's more hardware than software. Software is more like programs that you install onto your computer. Hardware is more like when you physically install a piece of equipment to your computer. Like your printer itself or a webcam but it can also be stuff you put inside your computer like the cd player, usb ports. I hope this helps!!! So my answer to your question is No. Printer ink question?
no it is not, it computer hardware.

I have a canon mp600 printer, all ink cartrideges have ink in them but when i print it is only in yellow and black and those colours are now fading too. It doesnt say anything in the manual how to fix it. Does anyone know?Printer ink fading, please help?
Had the exact problem with a hp. I never had it fixed but it was said that the jets were clogged. I used cheap ink in it and it never made it through the first cartridge. If you done what I did, you may need to have it serviced if you can't clean it yourself. I really hope this isn't your issue though.Printer ink fading, please help?
of course they don't tell you how to fix it. they tell you where to go buy more of it. why do you think printer's are so cheap and ink toners are so freaking expensive? that's where they make the profits. even if you have 70% more ink left, it'll still say ';low'; or ';near empty'; because them buttholes are out to steal our money
    turn the printer off

    wait a few minutes

turn the printer on. it should go through a cleaning cycle

print a test page(check your manual)

    try different paper

how old are the print cartridges?
check your printer settings on ur laptop or pc and make sure it is set to automatic sensor and the rest of your settings , such as your paper quality.Sounds like something very simple.

In UK who is the best cheap supplier of printer ink? I got some from Rubber Frog but it wasn't good.?

My Epson Cartridge full of ink costs FORTY PENCE. I use a ';Continuous Ink System';, 600ml ink costs 拢20.00, Epson Carts have 13 ml of ink per cart. Actually, by the time I have used 600ml of ink I have saved enough to buy 2 brand new printers.

HELP! Urgent help about changing printer ink?

So I just changed the ink on my Officejet 4215 and I changed the ink on it, which was color. And now it says that I'm low on color ink, but I just bought a new cartridge. I have another cartridge that is empty and I think it keeps using that one and now the new one. HELP HOW DO I GET IT TO USE THE NEW ONE!HELP! Urgent help about changing printer ink?
There should be something in the HP software that lets you reset the cartidge meters. HP meters for the most part are calculated. It has no idea if you put in a new one or just took the old one out and put a new one it. Since its an office jet you may find it underneath the maintence setting on the printer also.

    Indian ink and printer ink..?

...Are they considered the same thing? And if they are, I was wondering if printer ink is safe enough to tattoo yourself with? Please don't give me a lecture on how tattooing yourself at home isn't safe. I have been trying to do it with printer ink but then I though of this.

All of the answers are much apriciated.Indian ink and printer ink..?
I wouldn't recommend using either printer or indian ink. Tattoo ink is FDA approve for use in the skin. You can buy this from many companies who sell tattoo supplies. I would recommend that you do this. It would be much safer for you. The ink comes in different sized bottles. If you are tattooing just yourself, just purchase the smallest bottle available. But I really would not recommend using either printer ink or indian ink. You may get a infection or worse. You can look up these companies on the internet. I hope this helps. Good Luck !Indian ink and printer ink..?
ouch! I don't think printer ink is the same, I would not advise it. Why not try to save up some cash and go to a tattoo artist. I am sure you will be much more pleased and satisfied in the long run. Why risk crappy color, infection etc, etc.. You deserve to have the best. You are worth it. Get a special tat that has meaning to you, that will be beautiful.
    I think you are dumb.

Dell Printer has full color & black ink, yet prints blank pages?

I recently ran out of black ink on a black ink cartridge so I bought a refill and refilled it. However, when I try to print something, the pages are blank - over and over. There aren't even faint marks or anything. I'm pretty sure the cartridges are installed correctly and the ink was refilled correctly, so what other problem could it be?Dell Printer has full color %26amp; black ink, yet prints blank pages?
That would be becuase your print head is dry.

If a dell cartridge has sat unused for a couple weeks the print head on the cartridge will dry out. This prevents any ink from passing through onto the page.

There is noting you can do to get that cartridge running again.

Refilling has a very high failure rate as print heads are designed to break down quickly.Dell Printer has full color %26amp; black ink, yet prints blank pages?
reinstall your printer and print a test page. It should work. You may have also forgot to peal off the stickers on the cartridge.
did u click on which printer u want programmed? this happened to me once and it turned out that my current printer wasn't the one chosen on the computer to print.

  • Laser printer issue, ink smudges, fading?

I have an HP Laserjet 1200 printer that is not functioning correctly. When I print the ink on the page will fade in and out, and it sometimes smudges. Usually after this happens the part that didn't print last time comes out on the next thing I print. I have changed to a new ink cartridge and updated the drivers and still have no luck. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Again, it's a laser printer.Laser printer issue, ink smudges, fading?
I think you need a toner replaced go to the place you bought it from and askk for a new 'toner' if they wont give you a 'toner' or sell it to you they should be ashamed of themselves.

Your fuser is not hot enough.

You need to reaplce your fuser, or as it is a very expensive part possibly the whole printer.
You probably just need to clean it. http://tech.yahoo.com/gd/cleaning-laser-鈥?/a> go here to see how.
    You need to find out if the ';drum'; can be replaced. The only other option is the ';transfer roller';
