That would depend on the colour usage your pics require. Most home printers deliver anywhere from 30 to 50 4X6 prints; however if your pictures require a lot of one of the colours from a colour cartradge, think of taking a lot of pictures of a wedding party where the entire party is wearing yellow - you may find that the yellow cartrage runs out long before the other colours and then your printer will cease operation until it gets more yellow.
And the resolution you choose to print matters; the higher the resolution the more ink your printer needs to use, therefore the more ink used per print the lower the quantity of prints you will get.
