I was thinking about ordering a twin pack of cartridges and I was wondering if the cartridge can be store for a later date. In other words would the cartridge expire.Lexmark ink printer cartridge?
Most cartridges expire 18-24 months after date of manufacture, however they Absolutely will function beyond that point.
Just keep it sealed in the factory box and it will be fine when you need it.
For those telling you to purchase a new printer, all printers now whip with trial cartridges, these cartridges are only rated to print a tiny fraction of the pages a new cartridge would. It is Absolutely not cheaper to buy a new printer as the cartridges it comes with will print somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-25% of what a new cartridge would.Lexmark ink printer cartridge?
I agree with SteveB, but ink does have an expiration date, that will be dated in few years, but the ink will still work after the expiration date, the manufacturer just can't guarantee that you will get the same colour on paper as you get on screen. And printers can't guarantee that anyway.
I have an Epson, because you can buy third party ink at a fraction of the price.
Put it this way I by my inks [colour and black] in multiple packs and I don't do that much printing and I have never had one go dry on me yet in the last twelve years or so. And I use both a Canon and a Lexmark.
People have mentioned expiry dates before but I have yet to find one stamped on a cartridge yet!
With Lexmark, it's typically cheaper to throw away the whole printer (and buy a new one) than to pay for Cartridges ..
A cartridge can expire but it's years away. Even if it did I don't think it makes much difference
