Printer ink question?

What is the best way to keep the ink cartridge from drying out when not used alot.Printer ink question?
As another answerer suggested, it's best to use the printer at least once/wk. Some inks (esp. older ones or refills) tend to clog from disuse more often.





Check that the rubber seals that go around the printhead when the cartridges are in the capping station are intact. If they are cracked, broken off, or even missing, the ink will be exposed to too much air, which can cause clogging when sitting for long periods.Printer ink question?
the *easiest* best way is to leave the printer turned off whenever not being used, but turn it on at least once a week and print two pages to keep the nozzles from clogging up.





you can also buy docking cartridges, and remove your ink cartridges and place them in these docks whenever not in use. but my printer makes me re-align (a tedious process) every time in put a cartridge in, so that's not for me :)
Every printer I've had - HP, Epson, Panasonic . . .


I've let set for months at a time and have never had a problem with cartriges drying out, so I couldn't say . . .
Dry cartridge? It sounds like you don't use your printer enough.


You should just print out a test pattern or clean the nozzles once a week and your cartridges shouldn't dry up.
